Another successful famil!

A group of forward thinking Penrith Valley businesses recently put their heads together and came up with a strategy to try and encourage more events and conferences to be held in the area.

These businesses recognised the value of dealing with the corporate market and the benefits that it can have to their mid week available and bottom line. They also recognised that a lot of the people organising these events and conferences book a venue in Sydney because they are familiar with the area and know what venues can offer the services that they are after.

For this reason the group consisting of the Log Cabin, Holiday Inn Penrith Panthers, Nepean Belle/Penrith Platypus, Sydney International Regatta Centre, Premier Cabs, Signwave Penrith and Penrith City Council decided to invite a few of these event organisers out to Penrith so that we could show them what the region has to offer.

This familiarisation visit coincided with the ICF Slalom World Championships. Not only did we showcase the unique and versatile venues that the region has to offer we also showed how Penrith could deal with an influx of over 600 competitors, officials and spectators.

The event organisers who were invited on a tour of the area were very impressed with what they saw. Some of their comments include that Penrith is a 'is a beautiful area and the people were lovely.' 'It was a real eye opener and I will do my best to create some business for your area'.

If you are interested in finding out what versatile venues Penrith Valley has to offer call Vanessa Erskine, Marketing Officer, Penrith City Council 4732 7782. She can arrange for you to have a tour of the venues in the area.
